Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa means to move with the breath. Yinward Yoga™ vinyasa is a blend of sun-salute vinyasa, moving and breathing within standing poses, Kundalini-style vinyasa, Viniyoga vinyasa, and other forms of synching breath with movement. Strength, stretch, and conscious, mindbody movement are the focus of the practice.
Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is a passive, restorative style that allows people to slow down, stretch connective tissue, and shift their focus inward. Through this practice, people can raise their conscious awareness, connect to their bodies, and build a foundation for meditative and energy healing practices.
Yin/Vinyasa
A yin/vinyasa class or workshop combines the deep, long stretches of yin yoga with the more active, flowing practice of vinyasa. Since yin yoga is most effective when your body is not warmed up, yin is usually practiced in the first half of class, followed by vinyasa. The deep openings allow a more fluid, strengthening practice. The combination reminds us of the natural balance of life, the ebb and flow between being active and passive, and the importance of both in finding peace.
